3 Days, 2 Nights Desert Adventure: From Foum Zguid To Erg Chigaga, and Lake Iriki

Day 1: Foum Zguid – Zaouiat Sidi Abdenabi – Guesthouse
In the early afternoon, we depart from Foum Zguid in a 4×4 vehicle, traveling 74 km off-road to reach our guesthouse, “La petite maison du lac Iriki,” located in the heart of the village oasis. On the way, we cross desert plains and make a stop at a site rich in ancient fossils. Upon arrival, you will be warmly welcomed with refreshing tea and enjoy the serene surroundings. In the evening, dinner will be served around a cozy fire, accompanied by engaging conversations about the nomadic way of life.
Day 2: Zaouiat Sidi Abdenabi – Nomadic School – Erg Chegaga
You will have breakfast in the open-air lounge in front of the guesthouse. Then, you will visit the nearby Zaouiat Sidi Abdenabi Oasis, where you’ll learn about the nomadic lifestyle in the village, their agriculture, and the history of the area with a tour of the old ksar.
Afterward, return to the guesthouse to enjoy a traditional lunch prepared with fresh, local ingredients.
In the afternoon, we set off in a 4×4 vehicle towards Erg Chegaga, making a stop at the nomadic school to observe and learn about the education of desert children.
Upon reaching the Erg Chegaga camp, you will enjoy a sunset camel ride—a truly exceptional experience. Admire the tallest dunes in Morocco while savoring moments of peace and contemplation in the vast desert. In the evening, a delicious dinner will be served around the fire or in the tented restaurant, followed by a musical evening under the starry desert sky. You’ll spend the night in spacious traditional tents surrounded by the tranquility of the desert.
Day 3: Erg Chegaga – Dried Lake Iriki – Foum Zguid
In the early morning, witness the magical sunrise from the top of the dunes, near the old structure. Enjoy the vivid colors of the desert and take some time to explore and capture unforgettable photos.
Later, we return to Foum Zguid in the 4×4 vehicle, crossing the dry plains of Lake Iriki and stopping along the way to appreciate and photograph the stunning landscapes. You will return with cherished memories of breathtaking views and authentic experiences
